Vacation Bible School - July 2008

RAINFOREST ADVENTURE

“Every tree in the forest will sing joyful songs to the Lord” (1 Chronicles 16:33)

This summer at Ebenezer’s Vacation Bible School, Rainforest Adventure, children from the church and community had a “tree top bible blast” as they played games, did crafts, sang songs and learned about God’s love for us. Children also learned what it means to be a steward of God’s creation! More than 25 children from the ages of four-years old through sixth grade participated in four days of faith-filled fun while learning to better protect the earth.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) was held Monday through Thursday July 7-10, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There was a highly attended kick-off potluck after Church on Sunday, July 6th with great food and crafts.

“Vacation Bible School is a fun way to celebrate faith, help kids learn about the Bible, and connect to the children and families in our community,” said Rev. Carla Thompson Powell. “This year’s focus on the Rainforest allowed us to talk about our faith in relation to global issues and reinforce the importance of caring for God's creation. And, the evening hour helped busy families find time to participate.”
